Lieberman Presses Probe of Fort Hood Terror PossibilityNovember 9, 2009 Joe Lieberman has given the far left even more reason to hate him. The former Democratic vice-presidential nominee unequivocally labeled the Fort Hood, Texas, killing spree as the work of a “self radicalized, home-grown terrorist.” Lieberman is not mincing words like the news media and administration officials did following the massacre. Tortured language to avoid the obvious seemed to be their preferred script. President Obama and other Democrats appear to be unwilling to acknowledge that terrorism remains a threat. Meanwhile, many in the media continue to tiptoe around saying Maj. Nadal Malik Hasan’s name aloud and reporting on his Muslim background. Janet Napolitano, head of Homeland Security, expressed concern about a backlash against Muslims. But in light of the revelation that Hasan managed to be promoted to the rank of major in the Army, the following needs to be confronted:
Lieberman plans a thorough investigation, as chairman of the Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee. He speaks with remarkable clarity. “If Hasan was showing signs, saying to people that he had become an Islamist extremist, the U.S. Army has to have zero tolerance,” Lieberman told Fox News. “He should have been gone.” Reproduced with the permission of We appreciate your Comments. |
